Do you have a box full of photographs, or a drawer full of old letters? Are you exploring ways of sharing your family or community history? 

BPL Community History invites you to scan up to 5:

• Photos
• Negatives
• Slides/Transparencies
• Documents (loose documents only, no bound).

BPL staff will digitize your materials. You will have the option to add your scanned items to the Immigrant History Trail’s interactive web map. You will keep your original documents and receive digital copies on a USB flash drive. Library staff will be on hand to answer your questions about basic digital preservation and research resources at BPL.

Limited space is available. Registration is encouraged. When you arrive, you will be given a number in line for your turn to scan. Cantonese and Mandarin interpreters will be on-site to help. 

There will also be an opportunity to be interviewed for an oral history. These recordings will be archived and available on the Immigrant History Trail’s web map. Learn more at immigranthistorytrail.com.
